The terms of the yern waitlist
This is a working draft, reviewed by legal counsel before we open to our first members. It describes how the yern waitlist works today.
The short version
This is the waitlist for yern, a dating app being built in Oakland by Yern, Inc. Joining the waitlist means you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be 18
yern is for adults. You must be 18 or older to join the waitlist or to use yern.
What the waitlist is
Joining the waitlist reserves your interest. It is not an account, not a purchase, and not a promise of access on any timeline. We are balancing the first Bay Area group before beta opens, and we will email you when it does. We may change who we invite and when.
What you share
You give us your email, and you can optionally answer a short personality taster and invite friends to describe you. We use those answers only to build your profile if you join. You can skip all of it and keep your place on the list. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we protect it.
What's yours and what's ours
You keep ownership of what you submit, and you give us permission to store and use it only for the purpose above. The yern name, logo, and the content on this site belong to Yern, Inc. Please do not copy or reuse them without permission.
Free, and never sold
Joining is free. We never sell your data and we never run ads. We will only use your email to reach you about yern.
The waitlist is provided as is
We do not guarantee the waitlist will be uninterrupted or error free, and joining it does not guarantee a beta spot or any particular timing. To the fullest extent the law allows, Yern, Inc. is not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from the waitlist. The full warranty and liability terms are being finalized with counsel.
Changes
yern is young and will change, and so may these terms. If we make a material change we will update this page and the date on it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Where and how any dispute is resolved is being finalized with counsel.
